Overview

AI Layer is a browser extension that helps you manage prompts and launch AI assistants. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This extension does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data.

Data Storage

All data you create (commands, variables, and settings) is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local). This data never leaves your browser.

Permissions

• Storage — Used to save your commands, variables, language preference, and selected AI provider locally.
• Tabs — Used to open AI service websites (such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini) when you launch a prompt.
• Clipboard Write — Used to copy prompts to your clipboard so you can paste them into AI services.
• Host Permissions (api.mixpanel.com) — Used to send anonymous usage analytics to Mixpanel. No personal data is transmitted.

Analytics

AI Layer uses Mixpanel to collect anonymous usage analytics to help us understand how users interact with the extension and improve the product. We collect:

• Anonymous user identifier — A randomly generated UUID stored locally on your device. This identifier does not contain any personal information.
• Usage events — When you open the extension, launch commands, create commands, change settings, or switch languages.
• Non-identifying metadata — Such as your selected language, AI provider choice, and whether commands include descriptions.

We do not collect:

• The actual content of your commands or prompts
• Any personal information (name, email, IP address)
• Your browsing history
• Data from websites you visit

Data Collection

Beyond anonymous analytics mentioned above, this extension does not:

• Collect any personal information
• Track your browsing activity
• Share data with third parties for advertising purposes

Third-Party Services

When you use the launcher feature, AI Layer opens third-party AI websites in a new tab. Your interaction with those services is governed by their respective privacy policies. AI Layer does not control or access your activity on those sites.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
